Abstract
Telah dilakukan penelitian farmakognosi dan fitokimia tanaman komfrei dari Balai Penelitian Tanaman Obat Tawangmangu. Berdasarkan ciri-ciri morfologinya komfrei Tawangmangu adalah tanaman Symphytum officinale L. var. lanceolatum Weinm. Kadar kandungan alkaloida pirolizidina pada daun 0,019% dan pada akar 0,028%. Pada akar komfrei Tawangmangu dapat ditunjukkan adanya kandungan alantoin.
