Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is a sensitive indicator of a health facility’s quality and accessibility. MMR should be decreased to a targeted number of RPJMN 2019, at 306 in a million live births. Maternal health care effort can be realized through the fulfillment of antenatal care. Antenatal care is a Safe Motherhood program which is a health care for expecting mothers and their fetuses by professionals (Kemenkes, 2013). The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of knowledge about antenatal care and situation awareness in expecting mothers toward Antenatal Care Frequency at Waru Public health center’s range. This study is an Observational Analytical Study with Cross-Sectional Study Design. The study’s populations are 40 expecting mothers in Waru Public health center’s range, later 38 mothers selected by using Simple Random Sampling System as the study’s samples. Frequency Distribution and Linear Regression Analysis are used to analyze this study’s data. The result of this study indicates an occurring influences of knowledge about Antenatal Care and Situation Awareness in expecting mothers toward Antenatal Care Frequency by significant numbers: 1) the influence of knowledge toward Situation Awareness (p= 0,000 and b= 0,838), 2) the influence of Situation Awareness toward Antenatal Care Frequency (p= 0,000 and b= 0,596), and 3) the influence of knowledge toward Antenatal Care Frequency (p= 0,030 and b= 0,325). Conclusion: the most dominant influence, which is found by using Path Analysis, is the influence of knowledge through Situation Awareness toward Antenatal Care Frequency (b= 0,4999). Thus, the needs of health education in every expecting mothers’ Integrated Health Service Points should be improved and expecting mothers’ classes should be reactivated.
