Abstract

Propagation of Anthurium plowmanii Croat from young leaf and petiole explant has been carry out on MS medium with various concentration of plant growth regulators (NAA : BA and 2,4-D : BA). The concentration of NAA and 2,4-D are 0.1 mg/L, 0.2 mg/L, 0.6 mg/L, 0.8 mg/L, 1 mg/L respectively, and the concentration of BA are 1 mg/L,1.6 mg/L, and 1.8 mg/L. Observation had been conducted for 12 weeks to determinate the time of callus induction and 37 weeks for time of regeneration of buds and roots. The result of 12 weeks observation show that the combination treatment of NAA-BA and 2,4-D-BA toward the leaves and the petiole explant give different influences. By treatment of 0.8 mg/L NAA and 1.6 mg/L BA; 1 mg/L NAA and 1 mg/L BA; 1mg/L 2,4-D and 1 mg/L BA can induce callus in leaves explant. In the other side, the treatments can’t form callus in petiole explant. The observed colour of callus are white, yellowish with compact textures. More than 20 weeks culture period explant could form buds and roots. The best treatment to induced budding and rooting was on the MS medium with NAA 0.2 mg/L and BA 1 mg/L.
