Abstract

The practice of sexuality as an 'instrument' Kembang Kuning women against patriarchal hegemony in Surabaya shows that sexuality has been reproduced into a new power and authority to control certain individuals. The research problems are how the shift in the meaning of sacred sexuality among women in Kembang Kuning Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to determine the significance of sexuality and the levels to which the practice of sexuality is determined or set of social relations and its other controls associated with the relationship on the social control of women Kembang Kuning Surabaya against patriarchal hegemony. This study uses qualitative research methods to follow a series of steps by designing the study, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. This is the process of changing that perform various stages several times. The paradigm used in research on the shift sacred meaning of sexuality in seizing power is a critical paradigm. Results of the study is that a shift in the meaning of the practice of female sexuality by Kembang Kuning. That the practice of sexuality is not just the distribution of biological desire, but the practice of sexuality is used as a ' tool ' for women to seize power against patriarchal hegemony to men in Surabaya. The practice of women 's sexuality as a tool to control, conquer, and against the dominance of male power . Women who as second-class people trying to rise up against injustice by reproducing sexuality as an ' instrument ' to fight male power.
