Abstract

The meaning of life is influenced by the relationship between the elderly man, without any effort to find meaning in every episode of life, people will lose their best potential. Search for meaning of life with four basic needs, such as the objectives, of the purpose and objective fulfillment of the subjective, the values, which may justify certain aspects of an action, efficacy, confidence to change the situation, and self-esteem, reasons for someone to feel as good and precious. The purpose of this research is to explain the influence of environmental therapy method art creations make bros on the meaning of life of the elderly in UPTD Griya Wredha Surabaya. This results used pre-experimental one-group pre-post test design. The population in this research is elderly with amount 76 people. Sample was 12 people taken by purposive sampling technique. The independent variables of this research is a therapy environment creation of art to make bros, while the dependent variable in this research is the meaning of life of elderly. Collected data conducted by using a questionnaire and analyzed used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with significance α = 0.05. The results of research concluded that the therapy environment methods the creation of art make bros can increase the meaning of life of the elderly. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed that the therapy environmental method the creation of art made bros may influence the meaning of life of the elderly with the results of α = 0.012. Environmental therapy method the creation of art make a bros could be used as an alternative of training methods in increased the meaning of life of the elderly because the elderly can train tenacity, thoroughness and patience so that it can stimulate the cognitive, affective, psychomotor, sosio-emotional and self-concept. Further research is expected to use control groups and researching other factors that influence the meaning of life of the elderly. Researcher can use enviromental therapy in supporting and helping the elderly yo live a best quality
