Abstract
The aim of this study is to prove that the addition of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) in infected broiler chickens can increase diameter of white pulp and spleen’s measurement. This research used complete randomized design. Thirty day old chicks (DOCs) were divided into five groups: The first group C- as control negative was neither infected with Eimeria tenalla nor treatment, Second group C+ as control positive was infected with Eimeria tenella without any treatment. Other groups T2, T3, T4 treated with 5 ml VCO/kg feed, 10 ml VCO/kg feed, 20 ml VCO/kg feed respectively and Eimeria tenella infection. After 27 days treatment then spleen were taken and measured for the histopathology slide preparation. The data were analyzed by ANOVA method and further test by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The result showed that treatment with VCO increase body immune system microscopically which is indicated by increasing white pulp diameter.
