Abstract
Nutrition is estimated to be caused of 3.1 million child deaths per year.
Low intake of breastfeeding is one of causes from malnutrition on baby. In
Indonesia, the result of exclusive breastfeeding ( 0-6 month ) just 38%. The
purpose of this study is to analize the corelation between breastfeeding and
nutritional status of 1-2 years old children.
This study use cross sectional design. Sampling is taken by total sampling
then which comply of inclusion criteria are 108 samples. Independent variable of
this study is breastfeeding of 1-2 years old children and dependent variable is the
nutritional status (WAZ,HAZ,WHZ, BMI-for-age). Instruments are used
questionnaires breastfeeding, dacin and microtoise. Data analysis use Chi Square
(χ2) test (α=0,05).
The result of 108 respondents, majority breastfeeding on 56,5% of
children is with exclusive breastfeeding patterns and 54.6% still breastfed until 1-
2 years old. Nutritional status according to WAZ,HAZ,WHZ,BMI-for-age that
over from 80% has normal nutrition. The result of Chi Square (χ2) is p<0.05 for
the correlation history of breastfeeding pattern and duration of breastfeeding with
nutritional status for HAZ. But the result Chi Square (χ2) is p>0.05 for
correlation history of breastfeeding pattern and duration of breastfeeding with
nutritional status according to WAZ,WHZ and BMI-for-age.
The conclusion of this study, there are correlation history of breastfeeding
pattern and duration of breastfeeding with nutritional status for HAZ. But,there
are no correlation history of breastfeeding pattern and duration of breasfeeding
with nutritional status for WAZ,WHZ,BMI-for-age.
