Abstract

Wound healing process of is a complex process, if not handled properly, it will cause complications, including bleeding, infection that lead to sepsis, permanent damage of injured tissue. One of the natural ingredients that can be used to accelerate the healing time is the golden sea cucumber (Stichopushermanii). This study was using experimental study method. The subjects were 32 mice that divided into two treatment groups that is the group that were given gold sea cucumber extract (Stichopushermanii) and were not given golden sea cucumber extract. Mice were given treatments by slashed on the back along the epidermal layer of 1.5 cm. The first group was given a sea cucumber extract gel 2 times a day for 7 days. The second group was not given any sea cucumber extract. On Mann-whitney analysis with 5% significance level, difference in the length of the wound that had not closed between the group given sea cucumber extract gel and which are not was observed. Groups of mice that were given sea cucumbers extracts had an average length of the incision wound that has not been closed 0.719 cm, whereas in the group that not given any sea cucumbers extract had an average length of 1.288 cm wound incision. Based on the statistical analysis showed P value = 0.000. Data showed the group of mice given the sea cucumber extract gel 2 had inflammation and group without sea cucumber extract 15 had inflammation. Statistical analysis showed p = 0.000. Conclusion: Gold sea cucumber extract gel accelerate the closing of incision in mice
