Abstract

Approximately 75% of Indonesia’s female have a complaint about leukorrhea at least once in a whole life and 25% females visit Health Center is because of leukorrhea. Leukorrhea is not a disease but a sign of disease occurance. Definite etiology of leukorrehea is health status, infection, environment, genetic and vulva hygiene behaviour. Meanwhile behaviour be affected of knowledge. Therefore we conducted a study to determine relationship between knowledge and vulva hygiens behaviour which related to leukorrhea on santriwati in Pondok Pesantren Muwahidun Gembong, Pati. Design of the research was Cross Sctional study. Data were taken from respondents in Pondok Pesantren Muwahidun. Samples were taken by total sampling and who meet the inclusion are 49 samples and there are 30 (61,2%) respondents who have leukorrhea. Data were analyzed by Spearman rank to searching for relationship between knowledge and vulva hygiene behaviour and Mann-whitney test to compare knowledge and behavior score to leukorrhea case. There is a relationship between knowledge and vulva hygiens behaviour with p=0,001 but no correlation between knowledge and vulva hygiene behaviour to leukorrhea case with each p=0,229 and p=0,887. These data show that knowledge has a role to vulva hygiene behaviour of santriwati.
