Abstract
Background: The exclusive breast milk is the way of breasting which no other meal or drink given for the baby except breast milk (except medicine and vitamin), giving the breast milk begins as soon as after the labor process until the baby is six months old. If the baby is six months old, the other meal will be introduce for them and they still consume the breast milk until second years old. The aim of this research is to analyze the relation between what kinds of mother’s occupation with the successfulness of giving the exclusive breast milk for the first six months. Method: The observation of this sampling quota given for seventy five mothers who have baby around six to twelve months in Ploso Sub-district of Puskesmas Rangkah Surabaya working areas at April to June 2016. The data gained by the questionnaire given for working mothers. The data of, mother’s age, education level, occupation, the distance of the office, breast milk pumping given, working mothers attitude, husband’s support, and income. Those data analyzed by unvariat and bivariat analysis, then the data processed by SPSS 23 version with Chi-square method with biner logistic regression (CI= 90%, a= 0,1). Result: Based on bivariat analysis got several p values such as, the age (p= 0,236), education level (p= 0,940), occupation (p= 0,521), the distance of the office (p= 0,998), breast milk pumping given (p= 0,758), working mothers attitude (p= 0,466), husband’s support (p= 1,00), working duration (p= 0,869), breast milk storage (p= 0,694), breast milk pumping room (p= 0,745), and the income (p= 0,567) Conclusion: Based on the p values above with the orientation of a is less than 0,1 shows that there is no important relation in giving the exclusive breast milk.
