Abstract

Although not bite, tomcat has dangerous poison (concentration of tomcat’s poison is higher than cobra’s poison). But the poison of tomcat (Paederusriparius) is actually not deadly. The fact, this insect is useful for farmers so it should not be eradicated. The most important is how to maintain the natural balance and how to overcome tomcat attack. A researcher from LIPI (Lembaga limit Fengetahuan Indonesia, indonesian Scientific Institutions, Han Sutrisno as quoted byGatra said that if humans live in harmony with nature, the phenomenon of tomcat or other plagues like caterpillars and grasshopper will not happen. That’s why humans are hoped to balance ecosystem rather than destroy it for their own benefits. natural balance, ectoparasite outbreak, tomcat
