Abstract

There are several factors that influence the incidence of diarrhea in children underfive include: age, nutrient, parents education, source of water, type of laterine, handwashing habits. This research aims to analyze the risk factors diarrhea in children underfive. This study is cross sectional with observational design and sampling technique is Total samples with 182 children underfive. The result from bivariate analysis with statistic test chi square and regression (α) 0,05 include: (1) age (p=0,002), (2) type of laterine (p=0,287), (3) source of water (p=0,001). And from statistic test with regression the result include: (1) nutrient (p=0,001), (2) parents education (p=0,029), (3) handwashing habits (p=0,000). If the result of analysis is p<α that mean H0 rejected, there is a relation, otherwise p>α that mean H0 accepted, there is a correlation. The result from multivariate analysis with regression binary include: handwashing (p=0,002, OR=0,116), age (p=0,001, OR=3.954), nutrient (p=0,018, OR=2.685), source of water (p=0,021, OR=2.734), parents education (p=0,688, OR=0,735). The conclusion there are several factors related of diarrhea in children underfive include: age, nutrient, handwashing habits, source of water and one factor not related is type of laterine, so that still need promotion dan preventive from prevent incidence of diarrhea.
