Abstract

Education plays many roles in everybody‟s life and one of them is developing human resources. Being an educated person can guide you to a better place in your life, for example in your career. If you earned a professional degree there will be a lot of reputed companies that are seeking for you. The knowledge that you get will not only be useful for you but also for others. You can share your knowledge to others which means that you help to improve human resources of other people. SDI Al Azhar Kelapa Gading Surabaya integrates character building programs and Islamic education. SDI Al Azhar Kelapa Gading is a part of Perguruan Islam Kelapa Gading Surabaya which is under the management of Perguruan Islam Al Azhar Kelapa Gading Jakarta. The writer did her internship at SDI Al-Azhar Kelapa Gading Surabaya as an English teacher. She was very blessed because she had a chance to teach there. The writer thought it was a good opportunity because she could practice the knowledge that she got in her college. She also got so many useful and unforgettable experiences. Becoming an English teacher in a private Islamic school was the writer‟s first experience. Before she taught, she did some preparations to make the learning process go well. She also prepared herself not to be nervous while she faced the students. Besides she got a lot of experience, the writer also got some new knowledge in teaching field. First, the writer finally knew how to make an appropriate RPP. Second the writer knew how to handle young learners. Third the writer learned how to make fun activities and the last the writer learned how to understand students with different characteristics. The writer recommends SDI Al-Azhar Kelapa Gading Surabaya as an option to have an internship for her juniors because you will learn a lot of things whether it is about religion or being a good teacher. The school staffs were very good so were the students. And then the school also had a very pleasant environment
