Abstract

Cooperation among cities has the important role in globalization era in order to solve various problems by improving bilateral relations and multilateral. This is because the level of dependence in the international relations became more developed. That development is created as a result of the advances in science, technology, and information. In order to make Surabaya better, Surabaya City Government established Cooperation Division. The division has the duty to facilitate cooperation between Surabaya City Government and many various parties, such as the other city governments, institutions, universities, organizations, agencies and so on. It can be domestic or foreign parties. The writer got a lot of experiences and knowledges when she was doing the internship at international Cooperation sub-division. The staffs of Cooperation Division were very kind. They helped the writer when she got problems or difficulties. She also learned a lot of things such as translating the legal document, making a letter, making meeting resume, receiving a calls and so on. She also knew information about Surabaya cooperation that she did not know previously. So, the writer thinks that cooperation division is a good place for having an internship, especially for English Diploma student. The writer also had some suggestions in order to make Cooperation Division highly developed. They need to increase the number of cooperation partner’s and improve the cooperation sector with the partner. So, the cooperation among the cities will not break off easier and also make both of the cities more advance. Cooperation Division also need to update their official website regularly and the official website need to use bilingual language on their website. It will help people to get the information about Cooperation Division. It also can access by people around the world. The second suggestion is for English Diploma Program. English Diploma need more give the information to English Diploma student about where the best place to do an internship. So, the student would not do an internship in the wrong place. Furthermore, English Diploma Program should have more cooperation with many institutions in order to make students have an easy process to apply the internship proposal. In addition, the writer was very happy because she got the opportunities to do her internship at cooperation division. The writer also learned a lot of new knowledges and got many new friends and connections. The writer hopes the experiences and knowledges which the writer got during the internship can be very useful and applied in the future
