Abstract

Research purpose : To find the pattern of foot plantar pressure distribution among people in Surabaya Method: This cross sectional study was done on 84 feet samples of people in Surabaya, taken by stratified random sampling method, which met the inclusion criterias (stayed in Surabay4 5 years old and older, melayu-mongoloid race and cooperative) and exclusion uiterias (bedridden or wheelchair-bond more than 6 months, not allowed to walk on foot, not agree to follow the research procedures). Every sample signed the informed consent after received the information about this research. After examiner fill the questionnaire and examined the sample's feet samples underwent footprint and X-ray examination. Results: Sample's age range was 6.17-60 yo (mean 27.24 + 13.44 yo), BMI range 13.93- 36.33 (mean 22.23 + 3.73), more of them used pantofel shoes (56.257o), with range of footwear use was 4-10 h/d (mean 8.021 1.84 t/d). The prevalence of flat foot was 37.8% and high arch was 25.2%. Before 9 yo, the arch tend to flat (100% of samples in 5-9 yo range had flat foot), and the arch higher with increased age. There were differences between female and male on foot performance significantly after the age of 9 on QA (p=0.0192), ND (p:0.0022), IA (p0.0014), ICS 1p:6.9041), FPA (p:0.0013), NH (p:0.0376), CPA (p:0.0316) and MMTI- 5A (p'0.0018). These differences tend to reduce after the age of 35. Conclusions: The pattem foot plantar pressure distribution differed between male and female and these conditions were age specific. The QA had a role in this foot discrepancy: Foot print angle was a simplest and fastest method used in fooprint measurement in this study.
