Abstract
The aim of this study was to observe the effect of addition of different caffeine doses on motility, viability, plasma membrane integrity, capacitation and cythochrome C expression to find out the optimal dose of caffeine. Sampel used in this study was frozen semen from one dairy cattle which were collected at six different times using artificial vagina. This study used Completely Randomize Design with four treatments on different doses of caffeine (0mM, 2mM, 4mM, and 6mM) and each treatment was repeated at six times. The results showed that addition of caffeine was significantly affect sperm motility, viability, plasma membrane integrity and capacitation (p<0.05), but didn’t affect the expression of cythochrome C. It was found that dose 2mM caffeine was the optimum dose to reach the high motility, viability, plasma membrane integrity, and low level of capacitation and cythochrome C in dairy cattle Friesian Holstein spermatozoa.
