Abstract
One of the Japanese culture which is still preserved is Japanese funeral called soushiki. In the past, soushiki done by large families with neighboring communities called kumi. Soushiki nowadays have different ways with the traditional concept. Soushiki used to do together now turned into small and private. Soushiki have been change from funeral ritual turn to memorial event. Because of the shift pattern of relationships that occur, large families and neighbors are not involved in the implementation of soushiki. That's where sougisha take a role in helping the implementation soushiki. Sougisha which is a business that specializes in funeral services and the maintenance of the bodies is a solution for the implementation of private soushiki. This study discusses the role sougisha in the disconnected society called muen shakai. The author took a sample one ofsougisha in Setagaya. Due to a phenomenon of disconnected society, soushiki be difficult to do. In the face of these problems, sougisha present to offer funeral services and the maintenance of the bodies.
