Abstract
Japan is an advanced country with a civilized society. Culture is strongly attached to each of the Japanese until now, that’s why Japanese culture can affect each behavior when facing a problems. One of them was the Japanese behavior when facing unemployment problem. Unemployment is a situation where a person is not working, looking for work and ready to work if there are vacancies. With the culture inherent in Japanese people, being unemployed is not easy, its full of pressures and problems. This research will discuss how culture can affect the behavior of an unemployment through Sasaki and Kurosu character in the Tokyo Sonata movie. Japanese culture that affect an unemployment behavior in this movie is (1) Shame Culture, (2) Work Culture and (3) Honor Culture.
