Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the number of polymorphonuclear cells in the skin incision wound of mice (Mus musculus) after giving 12 % and 24 % of Spirulina gel respectively. Twenty male mice were divided into four group, 5 mice each. They were control group and treatment group which was given 12 % and 24 % Spirulina gel. After skin incision, histopathological evaluation was done to count polymorphonuclear cell based on the inflammation degree scoring system. The data was analyzed by Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney. The research showed Spirulina gel can reduce the number of polymorphonucelar cells in the skin incision wound of mice (Mus musculus) and gave significant different (p < 0.05) among the treatment groups.
