Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of bilimbi juice (Averrhoa bilimbi L.), lemon juice (Citrus limon) and lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia) against Staphylococcus aureus in vitro. This study used dilution susceptibility test method with 10 dilutions are a concentrations of 10% to 100%. The design of this study used completely randomized design with three treatments, bilimbi juice, lemon juice and lime juice, each treatments using 6 replications. Bacterial that used in this study was Staphylococcus aureus. It was adjusted to Standard Mc Farland 1. This study used Muller Hinton Agar media. The parameters were measured based on the lowest concentration that was not any bacterial growth (Minimal Bactericidal Concentration). The datas were analyzed by ANOVA and continued with HSD (Honest Significantly Difference) test if the result showed there were real difference. The results showed that there were not real difference between bilimbi juice, lemon juice and lime juice because they showed same results. MBC (Minimal Bactericidal Concentration) of the three treatments at a concentration 10%.
