Abstract

The aims for this research was to determine the effects of giving citric acid and dextrose in drinking water towards carcass percentage and fat abdominal percentage of broilers. This research was conducted in January to February 2016. The research was held at experiment cage Faculty Veterinary Medicine of Airlangga University. The materials for this research 25 DOC broiler strains Hubbard, which arranged based on randomized completely pattern design (RAL) with five treatments and five replications. Citric acid and dextrose which given in drinking water for each treatment consists of P0 (control, without citric acid and dextrose), P1 (citric acid + dextrose 1 gr/2,5 L), P2 (citric acid + dextrose 1 gr/5 L), P3 (citric acid + dextrose 1 gr/7,5 L), P4 (citric acid + dextrose 1 gr/10 L). In this research, researcher observe and process the data used analysis of variance (ANOVA) to know the differences between broilers who got the treatment and do not. If there was a real difference in treatment, the test will be continued with Duncan’s multiple range test and a confidence level of 95% (α=5%). For Statistic analysis, used SPSS program for windows 13.0. The results showed that the giving of citric acid and dextrose in drinking water was not significant (P>0,05) in a decrease of abdominal fat in broiler chickens but it significantly affect (P<0,05) in an increase of carcass percentage in broiler.
