Abstract

Stock split is one type of corporate action. The stock split is usually done to lower the price per share because the expensive issue of stock price. In stock split it is necessary to determine the split size of one share often referred to as the split factor. This research considered that the market reacted to the stock split information is split factor. This study was conducted to examine differences in the level of liquidity before and after the stock-split and test the influence of factors on changes in stock liquidity. The sample used in this study were all listed companies on the BEI which conducts a stock split without doing other policies. This research was using different test analysis and regression analysis. To find the difference of stock liquidity before and after the stock split, different test analysis tools was used meanwhile for the influence of the split factor to the changes in liquidity of stock regression analysis tool was used. This research can be concluded that: (1) There is no impact on the liquidity of shares by stock split (2) There is an effect of split factor on the stock liquidity.
