Abstract

Conclusion: This study demonstrated that hypoxia preconditions of BM-MSCs transplantation on acute glaucoma animal models showed significant results in apoptosis decreasing and RGCs increasing through autocrine and paracrine mechanisms. The transplanted hypoxia preconditions BM-MSCs could survive in the ischemia environment, and also could increase neuroprotective effects to the RGCs, anti-inflammatory cytokines and stimulate endogenous stem cells for proliferation and differentiation.
