Abstract

Many factors can affect the behavior of teenage dating, one of them is the source of information such as social media. If the usage of social media is uncontrollable, it cause adolescent exposing pornographic content so that it can change attitudes and behavior of adolescents in dating towards the behavior of free sex. Restrictions on the use of social media is a way that can change the behavior of adolescent dating. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the intensity of social media’s usage with the behavior of teenage dating in SMK "X" Surabaya. The type of this research is an observational research with cross sectional design. The object of research is adolescent class XI which attend school of SMK "X" Surabaya are 228 students. The usage of sampling technique is total sampling and statistical test using Spearman Rank correlation test. The results show that most of 54.66% of respondents with low intensity had moderate risk dating behavior, most 53.92% of respondents with moderate intensity had moderate risk dating behavior and most 58.82% respondents with high intentity had moderate risk dating behavior. Statistical test results P = 0,000. The conclusion of this research is that there is relationship between usage of social media with behavior of dating adolescent at SMK "X" Surabaya.
