Abstract

The writer was on the job training from 1th February to 28th February 2017 as a News Translator in PT. Magna Dana Investama. This company is at Jl. Pemuda 27-31 Surabaya. This company was established on 2004, Being established as a reputable financial institution, PT. Magna Dana Investama Berjangka has granted licenses on providing Futures Trading Services by Commodity Indonesia Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), Jakarta Futures Exchange (BBJ-JFX), and Indonesia Derivatives Clearing House (KBI). The writer had a job as a News Translator with eight hours of working during the job training. It means the writer is able to apply all English knowledge learned at the English Language program. Working as a news translator can be considered as applying the skills learned during the study at Universitas Airlangga. Besides the experience being a translator of news, the writer also experienced phone customers and learning trading. She had some problems during her internship but she could find the solutions. She solve the problems by learning from her mistake and asking the other employees. From this job training, the writer has learned about discipline, the writer had to come on time during her working. Communicate with people is also important while the writer doing her duties during her internship, because it help the writer to make new friends and make a good relationship with other employees. The important thing is that the writer could make herself acceptable in the office environment by making a good relationship with other employees.
