Abstract

The writer did an internship in ACSC (Alphakid Character Student Centre) Surabaya. She chose in ACSC because she wanted to get a new experience as a teacher assistant in pre-school, and to compare between learning process in school and private course. All instructions in ACSC used English. The fact says that ACSC becomes to the International Pre-School, so the writer wanted to be a part of that favorite school and had an experience how to teach appropriately, critically and dilligently to the learners. The writer did her internship in ACSC Surabaya for four weeks. The writer had two jobs. In the first two weeks, she was being an administrative teacher assistant for lesson planning. Then, in the next two weeks, she was being teacher assistant in the classroom. As an administrative teacher assistant, the writer learned about material preparation before the class. Besides, as a teacher assistant in classroom, the writer learned about how to manage the class and how to handle the learner’s behaviourism. The writer was very comfortable and less stressful because all staff in ACSC Surabaya welcome and kind to her in internship. The founder, principal, teacher, and front office were likely the writer’s family. During internship in there, the writer had many unforgettable memories with the teacher while taught together. ACSC did not have many teachers to handle in a classroom. The writer thought that the teacher in ACSC was not enough to handle the learners in a classroom. The learners’ ability is different, so the principal of ACSC must provide more teachers to teach their ability to develop it. For example, Raffa’s hobby painting, but ACSC had not provided the paint’s teacher. In this case, ACSC had to provide the guest teachers to teach the learners. It will increase the learner’s ability because they were taught by teachers who had good skills in their ability, such as singing, drawing, and dancing. The facility in ACSC was also limited, such as room dance it was using multi room to dance together consist of two classes. So far it is good, but needed to be better than before.
