Abstract

English becomes an International language which is spoken by many people around the world including Indonesia. The Indonesian people use the English as their first foreign language. In Indonesia, English is learned as a compulsory subject when students start to enter preschool and kindergarten up to university level. So, English is learned by the learners at a very young age, around three until six years. One of the preschools and kindergartens which teaches English for young learners is Alphakid Character Studies Centre (ACSC). It is located on Jalan Ngagel Jaya Barat No. 46 B, Surabaya. Alphakid Character Studies Centre (ACSC) uses emergent curriculum for the academic program. Emergent curriculum is a curriculum using English and creative fun learning based on the students’ interests and needs. There are also three extracurricular programs which can support the learning process; those programs are drawing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. By considering those factors, the writer was interested in conducting her internship at Alphakid Character Studies Centre (ACSC). During the internship, the writer did a role as a teacher assistant in the first two weeks and as a teaching planner in the last two weeks. She gained more knowledge while doing the internship program and had some duties within a month. The main duty of a teacher assistant was to support the main teacher in charge of the classroom. Besides, the main duty of a teaching planner was to make some English skills worksheets (reading, writing, simple math, and English count and non-count workheets) for different type of classes. In this case, every internship participant got one worksheet to be made.
