Abstract

English is the languange which can be required at this time as a communication tool for many people and very influential to the world in many sectors, such as economic, law, culture, education, media areas and etc. English is an important language to compete and survive for many people in globalization era. When Indonesia becomes part of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Indonesia can be expected to make the area more prosperous, peaceful and resilient. So, learning English for many people can open anything in the world. Learning English in curriculum 2013 is important to balance a competence, knowledge, and skill. Senior high school, junior high school, elementary even preschool or kindergarten now are using the method of learning English. To succeed in learning English, Indonesian people have many ways to develop their abilities such as opening the course, joining English course, and many more. Teachers also play an important role on how to succeed in learning English like taking a role in the classroom. Qualified teachers must have a good skill of communication, have a wide knowledge, and have an ability to handle the children. On this opportunity, the writer became a teacher assistant at Alphakid Character Studies Centre. She got a lot of experiences when she did an internship. For example, she accompanied the main teacher to take care of the children, prepared a lesson plan, and did fun activities with the children which could make the class become enjoyable. Moreover, the writer learnt how to come on time, teach well, and deal with the children. Even though in teaching process the writer was still feeling some difficulties, but the writer could do it well. The writer thought that the patience was the most necessary to be a good teacher assistant. The writer also got a new experience that was unforgettable when she did a role as a teacher assistant. The writer also gave the children some lessons such as fun english, simple math, reading, and writing by making simple worksheets. As a teacher assistant, the writer very enjoyed with the good condition at ACSC during four weeks of her internship. Based on her experience as a teacher assistant at Alphakid Character Studies Centre, the preschool has a good quality for children because at ACSC the children will get dynamic programs. ACSC can develop the children’s knowledge, language, social, emotion and creative skills. Not only for those reasons, Alphakid Character Studies Centre is able to assist the development of children with disabilities. The writer also gave the children some lessons such as fun English, simple math, reading, and writing by making simple worksheets. As a teacher assistant, the writer enjoyed very much the good condition at ACSC during four weeks of her internship.
