Abstract
Formal education in Indonesia uses K-13 (2013 curriculum) that emphasizes the value of attitudes, skills, and knowledge. This study examined students' attitudes toward the implementation of K-13 (2013 curriculum) in English reading lesson. The writer focused on the process of learning narrative text in the class. The participants of this study are the tenth grade students from SMAN 3 Tuban. This study identified students' attitudes that include cognitive, affective and conative. Furthermore, this study used the qualitative method by distributing questionnaires to 56 students as the representative that met certain criteria. This questionnaire consists of 13 questions written in Bahasa Indonesia. The method also used focus group discussion and observation to support collecting the data. After analyzing the data, the writer found that the cognitive, affective and conative attitudes are more positive than negative. In addition, this study also showed the successes and challenges experienced by students in learning English reading lesson based on K-13. The results of this study provide the evaluation to some parties such as Ministry of Education and Culture toward the implementation of K-13.
