Abstract

Having internship in SD Al-Muslim gave the writer so much precious experience. She learnt new things from the environment, from the teachers, and the students itself. In SD Al-Muslim, many skills that the writer could improve while she was doing internship in a month, such as English skill. As an English teacher, having good English is very important because it is used to teach in the class, communicate with the students and another English teacher. The writer’s English skill was started to be better from observing teaching and learning activity, learning from the students especially from some of them who are native speakers, so she not only taught but also learnt from the students. Another skill is negotiation where the internship taught the writer to negotiate the new thing such as dividing duties in the class with another teacher or getting involved in discussion if needed. The main goal of the internship is teaching itself. The writer chose SD Al- Muslim as a media to observe teaching and learning activity, learn how to teach pupils, how they acquire language, and try to teach by herself. Finally in a month, she got the knowledge and the experience that she needed and even more. If there is student who wants to do internship, SD Al-Muslim is recommended especially for muslim students. There are many aspects that could be observed, it has sufficient facility and technology, based on international, and the most important is it is surrounded by the kindness and warm hearted that will make you comfortable to be part of them.
