Abstract

ASEAN Economic Community required Indonesia international insight in some economic sector, especially in tourism sector because tourism sector is the closest economic sector with the international exposure and it also increasingly plays an important role in the economic growth. Therefore, Indonesia has to provide labors with international skills such as mastery English well and mastery good skills to in order to compete with the foreign labors. According to this case, the writer feel really lucky to had an internship abroad because she could know an international exposure to improve herself and the nation. This opportunity gave her many experiences for the writer such as she got new knowledge, got experience in the international studies, got new relation, got new adaptation for the new environment and culture, got the international worker atmosphere, discipline, keep the good appearance, keep the image of the nation and institution and she got new experience to develop her country and her institution to be better by knowing the comparison between her country and the country where she did her internship. Those experiences become one of her unforgettable experience. Though she also has some problems during the internship, she always tried to do her best. It was to give good impression as an Indonesian student. She solved the problem by doing the work like a professional because she also got some positive aspects. According to her experience, she hopes there will be many students of Faculty of Vocational Studies who can do an internship abroad or student outbound because the international exposure can open the insights for the youth. The writer has two suggestions to the faculty. First, she hopes there will be more internship abroad program for students of Faculty of Vocational Studies because the output of the students is practitioner. Second, she hopes that Faculty of Vocational Studies can make more relation in other university in the other country, so the students will get greater opportunity to have an internship abroad. Third, this internship program have to be supported by all parties such as finance department to avoid the lateness of the financing the program, the major department and also the lectures. The writer also has two suggestions for EDC Hotels and Resorts. First, She hopes that this hotel can improve the timeline for the internship students, when do they start and over the internship. Second, she hopes the departments can give the decent work to the internship students because the students want to get much knowledge, so the staffs can give them many works and trust. The last is the information to all students of English Diploma. There are many opportunities to you to go abroad during internship or international studies. You can get the information from International Office and Partnership Universitas Airlangga about the internship abroad. Universitas Airlangga has many relations with many universities in the world. Then, you can look for the information by yourself then you apply it and get some recommendations from to the faculty. Good Luck!
