Abstract

English is an important language for people around the world. It becomes international language because it is used in many countries which do not share the same language and culture. The use of English that grows rapidly makes this language become one of the languages that must be mastered. To be able to compete in the globalization era, people are required to be able to communicate in English, so they can jump to the global market easily. The importance of English is also influential in educational field. It can be seen that now in Indonesia, English has become one of the subjects in National Final Examination and also included in the curriculum. It also makes the education in Indonesia developed by using English in their curriculum. It will make Indonesian people get used to use English as their foreign language. Applying English toward the children since early age is one of the most appropriate things because children tend to be faster and more effective in learning language. Children take in information from all sides. It means that they learn from everything around them. Their understanding also comes from many sides, not only from explanation but also from what they see, hear, and touch. So, it is the reason why the most appropriate age for learning language especially foreign language is since early child. Besides the age, teacher also has important roles in education, especially in learning language. Teacher is a person who has a responsibility to handle the students inside and outside the classroom. The success of the class is because of the teacher, so teacher must be good example for their students. Nowadays, the use of curriculum 2013 makes the reduction of English in many schools, but ACSC is still using English beside Indonesian as their intermediate language. ACSC believes that English is important and become easier if we learn it since early child with fun situations and environments. It was pleasure for the writer to experience of becoming a real teacher assistant in ACSC – Alphakid Character Studies Centre. She could apply their knowledge in taught and handled the students, in this case is young learners, also how to be good and patience teacher.
