Abstract

Hypertension is one of the major risk factors for cardiovascular diseases requiring routine treatment. Non-adherence of hypertensive patients in taking antihypertensive drugs was reported as a problem. An existence of BPJS PBI program from the government for the underprivileged people to improve the quality of life, non-adherence of patients with hypertension BPJS PBI participants were reported. This study aimed to determine factors that affect non-adherence of patients participating BPJS PBI in visiting Puskesmas and their activity to get the medication when they didn’t list Puskesmas. A qualitative study with semistructured interviews were conducted technique. Informants were four hypertensive patients whose data were from SIMPUS data in Puskesmas, representing with patients with different grader, age, frequency of visit to Puskesmas, occupation and blood pressure an recorded on SIMPUS data. Interviews were conducted at informants recidence and transcribed verbatim then data processed by thematic anaysis. The results showed four informants had different non-adherence factors but also had several factors in common, informants didn’t taking medication in Puskemas because informants prefer to taking medication at apotek.
