Abstract

Background: Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is one of cardiovascular disease that often cause death. According to WHO, cardiovascular diseases are still becoming the number 1 cause of death globally. In 2012, estimated 17.5 million people died from cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this research was to find the general description of the patients suffering AMI from July, 1st 2015-December, 31st 2015, which include gender, age, infarct location and the risk factor of acute myocardial infarction. Methods:This research used retrospective study which use secondary data collected from medical records, involving a sample of 25 patients after considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study was conducted in the patients who were admitted to ICCU from July, 1st 2015-December, 31st 2015. Results: Out of 25 patients with acute myocardial infarction, 76% was male. The incidence of AMI was dominated by 40-49 years age group. The location of infarct was more in inferior (35%). And the hypertension the most risk factor in this study with 35% Conclusion:In this study, males were more at risk than females where the incidence was increased by the increasing of the age. The infarct was most happened in inferior. Hypertension was the mayor risk factor. Further studies are required for the validity.
