Abstract

Background: One of the causative factor in abnormal cell growth in cancer is miRNA abnormality. In our bodies, miRNA act as regulator of our cell. miRNA of cancer in general is divided into 2 types: Oncogenic miRNA, tumor suppressor miRNA. miR-125a is one of the tumor suppressor micro RNA in breast cancer that have role to silence these genes: HuR, HER2, ETS1, Cyclin J, MEGF9. miR-155 is one of the oncogenic micro RNA in breast cancer that have role to silence these genes: SOCS1, TP53INP1, FOXO3, RhoA. Methods: This research uses descriptive method involved 3 samples, 1 of the sample is excluded because it fulfills exclusion factor due to undetermined value on miR155- 5p. This research takes place in tropical disease center during November 2016- Desember 2016. The data collected using breast cancer tissues. Results: The research result based on the research finding shows the differences expression value of miR155-5p and miR125a-3p. Conclusion: Since we do not have the control sample (Healthy tissue) for judging if miR155-5p is higher than normal or miR125a-3p is lower than normal. We can not conclude if the oncogenic micro RNA is greater than tumor suppressor micro RNA
