Abstract

Background: Toxoplasmosis has become a common opportunistic infection detected in HIV/AIDS patient. Toxoplasmosis in HIV patient is usually caused by the reactivation of latent infection and the most common manifestation of it is Ensefalitis Toxoplasma (Subauste, 2006). Toxoplasmosis is a serious disease that potentially increases morbidity and mortality in AIDS patients (Furtado et al, 2011). The prevalence rate of Toxoplasmosis infection in HIV patient vary greatly ranging from 3% to 97%. Method: This research took place at RSUD Dr. Soetomo. This research used medical records as it's data source. This research is a descriptive research of Toxoplasma Serology Profile in HIV/AIDS patient at RSUD Dr. Soetomo, Surabaya in the period of January 2015 - October 2015 with a total of 356 patient used as research subject. The variables used in this research were age, gender, IgM and IgG Toxoplasma rate, and clinical manifestation related to Toxoplasmosis. Result: The result of this research showed that the total patient of Toxoplasmosis in HIV/AIDS patient at RSUD Dr. Soetomo, Surabaya in the period of January 2015 - October 2015 were 40 patients. Based on the serology test on IgM and IgG anti Toxoplasma 84.4% (38 patients) showed positive result for IgG and negative for IgM while 4.4% (2 patients) showed positive result for both IgG and IgM. The patients were dominated by the age group of 31 - 40 with 53.3% (24 patients). Based on gender, men had 70% (28 patients) and women had 30% (12 patients). The clinical manifestation were fever with 70% (28 patients), headache with 65% (26 patients), and loss of consciousness with 62.5% (25 patients). Conclusion: There were 356 HIV/AIDS patients at RSUD Dr. Soetomo, Surabaya in the period of January 2015 – October 2015. 40 patients were diagnosed with Toxoplasmosis which dominated by serology tested IgG positive but IgM negative patients, patients with age group of 31 - 40 years old, male patients, and patient with fever as clinical manifestation.
