Abstract
This research target was to know Escherichia coli‟s sensitivity againt antibiotics and to detect “encoding gene” shv and catA1 using PCR technique. This research was used five diffenrent antibiotics for sensitivity test with diffuse disc method. These antibiotics are Ampicillin, Ciprofloxacin, Gentamicin, Chloramphenicol, and Trimethoprim. We found that Ampicillin and Chloramphenicol had the highest level of resistance. Total 43 of 70 samples from raw milk had positive Escherichia coli. We confirmed with EMBA medium and Indol test. The resulted from electrophoresis product of PCR said that resistance Escherichia coli has specific band. Total 12 of 43 samples resistance Escherichia coli from Ampicillin has specific DNA band primary shv with 768 bp in length. And none of the 15 samples of resistance Escherichia coli from Chloramphenicol has specific DNA band from primary catA1 with 547 bp in length.
