Abstract

Low back pain is a common health problem and its prevalence are increasing every year. Epidural steroid injection (ESI), pulsed radiofrequency (PRF), and medial branch block (MBB) are interventional pain management on low back pain problem. From here, the author would like to investigate the efficacy of those interventional pain management, 3 months after the treatment for low back pain. This study is conducted with a cross-sectional research design. The sample are low back pain patient treated by Neurosurgeon Team RSUD Dr. Soetomo. Through a series of inclusion and exclusion criteria, this study included a total of 17 patients. Low back pain patients that has been treated (regardless the intervention) by RSUD Dr. Soetomo Neurosurgeon Team have an average pain reduction VAS score 4,5±2,47. The average pain reduction VAS score 3 months post PRF and ESI combination treatment is 4,6 (SD ± 2,18). Meanwhile, the average pain reduction VAS score 3 months post MBB treatment is 1 (SD ± 1,41). The average pain reduction VAS score 3 months post ESI treatment is 5,5 (SD ± 2,34). The treatment of low back pain patients from RSUD Dr. Soetomo Neurosurgeon Team reduce the pain into mild-moderate pain, 3 months after the treatment. The ESI treatment has the most pain reduction 3 months after treatment
