Abstract

Introduction: Brain neoplasm is a neoplasm that grows and develops in the brain tissue. Brain neoplasm can be potentially life-threatening because they affect the functional areas of the brain. Brain neoplasm that progressively develop cause symptoms that burden the patient until the quality of life of patients disturbed and can cause death. This study aims to determine the profile of brain neoplasm patients so that the results of this research could become the references to improve knowledge, reduce the morbidity and mortality of the patients. Methods: This study used a descriptive retrospective method by taking a medical record data on all patients with brain neoplasm at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya in January 2015-December 2015. Result: The results showed that patients with brain tumor most of them were female (59%) and mostly aged 41-50 years (42 patients). The most common types of brain neoplasm are meningima with 55 cases.
