Abstract

The number of cesarean section had increased since 30 years ago in the world. Along with that, the use of anesthesia in cesarean section has increased too. The common anesthesia technique used in cesarean section is a general anesthetia, regional anasthetia (spinal )and epidural anasthetia. The purpose of this study is to compare neonates apgar scores in cesarean section under general anesthesia and regional anesthesia (spinal) . This was an analytic retrospective study . This study uses medical record’s data from 149 neonates born alive through a cesarean section with general anesthesia and anesthesia regional (spinal) at RSUD dr.Soetomo Surabaya during period 1 January 2016 - 31 December 2016. Data were collected then grouped and displayed in table form. Then analyzed with SPSS 20 for Windows, with the Mann-Whitney test. Mann-Whitney test was significant(p<0.05) for all apgar scores (p1=0.005; p5=0.007; P10=0.001). There is a difference in apgar score on the Mann-Whitney test according to the time distribution at minute 1, 5 and 10.There was a significant difference between neonates apgar score in cesarean section at the first, fifth and tenth of minutes under general anesthesia and spinal analgesia.
