Abstract

Given the radiation can be harmful to health, the use of radiation needs to be monitord, either through regulations relating to the use of radiation and radioactive materials, as well as the regulatory body responsible for ensuring that the regulations are followed. In Indonesia, the regulatory body is BAPETEN (nuclear watchdog). And radiation protection philosophy in life is now set by the radiological protection, IRCP) said in a statement that the restriction doses of radiation, namely: Justification, limitations, optimization. 1. Justification: any use of radioactive substances or other sources should in principle such benefits ity. An activity that includes exposure or potential exposure only be approved if it will turn a bigger profit for the individual or society in comparason with a loss or a possible danger to health.2.Limitation: the equivalent dose of radiation received by workers or the public should not exceed the dose limit value (NBD) that has been set.3.Optimization: all irradiation should try as low (as low as reasonably achieveable - ALARA)
