Abstract

Schizophrenia is one severe psychiatric disorder, patients with schizophrenia exhibit various symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, mental disorders, irregular or abnormal motor behavior and negative symptoms. This self-care deficit is a condition of a person with weakness in performing or completing self-care activities such as bathing, dressing / dressing, eating, and bowel movement. This study aims to determine the effect of reward on self-sufficiency self-care schizophrenia patients. This study uses a quasy-experimental research design. The population is all patients in the Flamboyan Room. Sampling using purposive sampling method with the number of 12 respondents and divided into 2 groups. Treatment group of 6 respondents and control group of 6 respondents. The independent variable in this research is reward card. Dependent variable in this research is self-care independence. The data were collected using observation sheet and then the data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney U Test with significant value p≤0,05. Wilcoxon Signed Rank statistical test results Self-independence self-treatment in the treatment group before and after intervention p = 0.014, while self-independence in the control group p = 0.317. Then statistical test results Mann Whitney U Test self-care independence between the treatment group and the control group p = 0.241.
