Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of Acalipha indica Linn. to increase HDL level and to decrease LDL blood level of white male rat (Rattus norvegicus.) which given a high fat diet. This study was conducted with 5 treatments, two controls and three treatments with 4 replications for all treatments. Adaptation was performed for 7 days and treatment period in 64 days. On the last day before blood sampling, rats were fasted for 8-10 hours then in anesthesia with Ketamine-xylazine by intraperitoneal and blood taking is do at aortic blood vessels were located in the heart. Calculation tools of HDL and LDL levels are spectrophotometer with E2HL reagent. The result of this research showed significantly different of negative controls of three doses that is 800m/kg BW/day for normal HDL levels, and also significantly different between the negative control and the third dose to significantly decrease LDL levels and return to normal limits. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the effective dose of Acalypha indica Linn. root plant extract has the most influence on the level of HDL and LDL of white rat (Rattus norvegicus) induced by pig oil in the third dose of 800mg/kg BW/day.
