Abstract

Many celebrities on instagram, or commonly called as celebgram are arise in this era. This phenomenon is inseparable with the popularity of social media nowadays, especially among teenagers to adults. One of the most popular celebgram is Karin Novilda or also popular with Awkarin from the @awkarin instagram account. The purpose of this study is to analyze the multimodality elements whether both the verbal elements and the visual elements are connected to each other. From the picture and caption on Awkarin instagram account. This study will be analyzed in depth using Grammar and Visual Design by Kress and van Leeuwen (2006) in analyzing the objects. This study is a qualitative study since this study do not need a survey or an experiment in obtaining the data. This study reveals that caption and photos from Awkarin’s Instagram account is appropriate. All of the modes that used in this study contributed meaning to each other, which makes both the verbal and visual elements are related to each other which finally construct a complete idea
