Abstract
Recently, there are a number of people who bravely showing their identity differently like what society beliefs especially in social media like Instagram. One of the example is @Joviadhiguna. He is as the Selebgram and content creator which perform his gender identity differently with that the society expects men should be. This research aims to find out how @Joviadhiguna perform his gender identity by expressing his gender differently which does not meet the society perception of being masculine. This study applies the gender performativity theory by Judith Butler to convey Jovi’s unique persona. This study uses qualitative approach and is specifically conducted semiotic method to discern the data. The data were taken from each of year and take one photos in every year which suitable with the characteristic that already arrange before. The writer argues that Jovi Instagram account attempts to defy the common binary gender perspective that already exist in society.
