Abstract

Background : Complementary food (MP-ASI) food in infants after 6 months of age. Giving baby food or other fluids other than breast milk before age 6 month baby can damage the baby's digestion because the baby's digestive system has not been able to function properly. Family is one factor that has a relationship with the provision of MP-ASI early. Inadequate family support for early breastfeeding feeding has a negative effect on infant health. This research is to analyze the relationship of family knowledge and the growth of babies who receive complementary feeding at the age of 0-6 months. Methods : This research used observational analytic and cross-sectional study design. The population are all infants aged 0-6 months which amounts to 52 babies. The instrument is questionnaire and Healthy Towards Card (KMS). The analzye correlation of data used Chi-square test (α = 0.05).Results: The results obtained family knowledgeinfant growth with p value <0,05 (0,000). Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between family knowledge and growth in infants who receive complementary feeding at the age of 0-6 months. keywords: early complementary feeding, family knowledge., growth of infants
