Abstract
Information exchange can happen through any media such as newspaper, news broadcast, and online news or website. People get, learn, and access many things freely including travel article on the website. News is information that contains current or happening circumstances (“News,” n.d.). Nevertheless, news is not just written in one language. At this point, translation is needed as a bridge of information exchange. Translation has an important role to convey opinion, culture, and any other thing that have correlation with human issues. This paper aims to discuss the methods that are used to translate travel article in surabaya.tribunnews.com. There are nine translation methods (Catford, 1965; Munday, 2016) to help translator produce comprehensible and acceptable translation. Those nine methods are (1) borrowing, (2) word-for-word, (3) calque, (4) transposition, (5) literal translation, (6) modulation, (7) equivalence, (8) adaptation, and (9) free translation
