Abstract
Background: teenager is a transition period from children to adult. One of the processes which experienced by them is finding their identity. It could affect negative manners easily, for example, teenager sexual behavior. Earlier study which was done in SMK “X” Surabaya showed that 80% of them stated that their sexual behavior were influenced by pornography through social media, and 20% others used social media for learning and getting information. In addition, dating behavior which they experienced are holding hands and embracing, kissing, touching sensitive area. There were two students resigned because of unwanted pregnancy. This study aims to determine the correlation between the used of social media with the teenager dating behavior. Methods: analytic observational with the cross sectional approach to 86 students as a sample of 403 students as a population in smk adhikawacana surabaya, period September 2017 to August 2018. This research was done on May 24th, 2018. Results: Analysis statistical tests obtained p value ( 0,000 ) < α 0.05 which means there was a correlation between the used of social media with the teenager sexual behavior with correlation coefficient 0,501 in range 0,40-0,599 and interpreted the correlation between variables which showing a medium correlation. Conclusion: There was a correlation between the use of social media with the manners the dating scene the youth in SMK “X” Surabaya , with koefesien correlation ( + ) which means there are the relationship in line where if the use of social media high behavior the dating scene teenagers is also high or the higher the use of social media so the more probability the dating scene that deviates behavior Key words: teens , social media , the dating scene behavior
