Abstract
Background: The number of adolescent who have experienced the premarital sexual intercourse reaches an increasing trend currently. In this case, one of the factors influencing the adolescent to behave the premarital sex is a place where they live, as one of the examples is in the prostitution area. Regarding it, there is a Vocational High School (SMK) 'X' as one of the school in the area around the former of Dolly prostitution in Surabaya. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the premarital sexual behavior in adolescent girls of SMK 'X' Surabaya. Method: This study used an analytic observational with cross-sectional design as the research method. For the total sampling was derived from 57 people. The dependent variable used in this study was the premarital sexual behavior. For the independent variables, it contains the reproductive health knowledge, the access to prominent sexual media material used in finding the information of premarital sex, parental interaction, and peer support. The results were tested by using univariate and bivariate test (chi-square). Results: The results showed that most respondents of 20 students (35.1%) have experienced the sexual behavior in level three, namely heterosexuality (kissing and necking). Moreover, the chi-square results showed that there is a relationship between mass media access in seeking information of the premarital sex (p = 0.001) and the parental interactions (p = 0,000) towards the premarital sexual behavior. Also, there is no relationship between the reproductive health knowledge (p = 0.873) and peer support (p = 0.376) towards the premarital sexual behavior. Conclusion: The mass media access in seeking information of the premarital sex and parental interaction has a significant relationship towards the premarital sexual behavior of adolescent girls in SMK 'X' Surabaya.
