Abstract

Women decreased age of menarche by 20,9% (Riskesdas, 2010). The impact of early menarche causes women to experience early menopause (Anindita, 2015). But Ratna’s (2014) study suggests that early menarche causes late menopause. Menopaue women in Indonesia as much as 2,9% age 40-59 years have entered menopause (Litbangkes, 2010). Early menopause can cause osteoporosis, in the work area of Jagir Public Health Surabaya found 10 most diseases in 2016 is arthritis (3%) which can cause muscle pain (9%) as one of the symptoms of osteoporosis (Dinkes, 2016). Early menopause can be prevented by consuming fresh cegetables and fruits, taking vitamin D, progesterone hormone, a through examination of the breast, cervix and uterine body periodicaly. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between age of menarche and age of menopause in the working area of Jagir Public Health Surabaya. Methods this research used observasional analytic study and cross sectional approach. The population of elderly women in working area of Jagir Publich Health Surabaya in April-May 2018 were 917 women, sampel with 104 women according to the inclusion criteria. Samples technique in this study used cluster random simpling. Age of menarche is independent variable and age of menopause is dependent variable. The instrument used is questionnaire. The analyze correlation between variables used Spearmen and coefficient contigenty test. The results showed of 57 (55%) women age of menarche normal (12-14 year), 86 (83%) women age of menopause normal (45-55 year) and 45 (79%) women age of menarche normal with normal menopause in work area of pubic health Jagir. Result of menarche of menopause with p value >0,05 (0,739) with strength of coefisient contigency (0,033). Age of menarche have not relation with age of menopause. Suggestion of this research midwife can do counseling on girl for preparation menarche and age fertilate of woman for preparation menopause. Keywords: age of menarche, age of menopause
